‘People Magazine Investigates’ Returns Oct. 28 with New Season

People Magazine Investigates will return for its eighth season later this month on Investigation Discovery.

The new season premieres Oct. 28 at 9/8 CT on ID with back-to-back episodes, the network announced Friday.

“The new season of People Magazine Investigates will delve into a number of shocking cases from across the country,” the press release says, noting the “series will continue to expand upon PEOPLE’s original reporting, offering unprecedented access to key individuals close to these cases, archival footage, and new perspectives.”

In the season premiere, People Magazine Investigates will examine the 2005 murder of 9-year-old Fla. girl Jessica Lunsford in an episode titled, “The Boogeyman.”

And in the second half of the season premiere double header, People Magazine Investigates will look closer at the 2012 murder of Winchester Star reporter Sarah Libbey Greenhalgh in Upperville, Va., in an episode titled, “A Story to Die For.”

People Magazine Investigates promises “a number of gripping stories” throughout its new season.

Among the new episodes, investigative reporters will highlight “a chilling, execution-style murder in West Palm Beach, Fla., carried out by a killer in a clown costume,” as well as “the devastating murder of a young soon-to-be mother outside Chicago, Ill. by a public servant trusted by the community.”

Another episode features the story of “a Maryland woman who, after taking a harmless genealogy test to learn more about her past, discovers her birth father is wanted for some incredibly heinous acts.”

New episodes of People Magazine Investigates will air every Monday night throughout the fall on ID at 9/8 CT, the network announced.
