This Bissell Carpet Cleaner Is My Favorite for Tackling Pet Messes

My golden retriever loves to get messy. Our daily walks usually include some time rolling around in the grass, which can sometimes be a bit muddy — but I’m well-prepared for any messes she might track in when we get home.

To use it, add the formula to the indicated line, then fill the rest of the tank with warm water, secure the cap, and place it back on the machine. Using one of the attachments (I always use the Tough Stain tool), spray the area thoroughly and scrub. Then, drag the tool head across the treated area to suck up the mess.

You have to tilt the tool forward and apply a good amount of pressure for it to suction up the hose — you’ll see it working when you’re doing it properly. If you’re cleaning a larger area, it does require a good amount of arm work. I usually have to take a few breaks to let my back rest. 

But it’s worth the effort and so satisfying (and gross!) watching the dirty water tank fill up. I’ve only had a few issues with the clean water tank leaking when I turn it upside down to reattach it to the machine — so just really secure the cap tight before you do. 

Since I live in a one-bedroom apartment with very little storage space, I appreciate that it neatly packs up; the hose wraps around the base of the machine and the power cord wraps around the two hooks on the back.
