Police Allegedly Discover Teacher Sexually Abusing Boy in Under-Construction Home

A Texas teacher was arrested after authorities alleged she engaged in “sexual contact” with a student at a home under construction.

Jennifer Massey, 51, is facing a charge of improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony, according to a statement on Facebook from the Comal County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office deputies were called to a location in Garden Ridge at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, after a report of a suspicious person in a home under construction.

Deputies allegedly discovered Massey, an art teacher at Davenport High School, inside the property with an underage boy.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the two individuals engaged in sexual contact,” says the statement.

Massey was put on administrative leave on Friday, Oct. 4, Davenport High School Principal Angela Looney said in a message to parents, per KSAT.

“The safety and security of our students is one of our highest priorities, and a responsibility that we take seriously,” Looney said. “During the hiring process, the district’s human resources department conducts full background checks and criminal history to ensure that classrooms are led by individuals who have every student’s best interest in mind.”

Massey is currently being held at the Comal County Jail, and a bond amount has not yet been set, the sheriff’s office said.
