Canadian Woman, 30, Charged with Murdering 3 People in 3 Days

A woman has been charged with murder in connection with the deaths of three people over just three days in Canada.

The Niagara Regional Police Service confirmed in a press release shared on Friday, Oct. 4 that 30-year-old Sabrina Kauldhar was arrested following the deaths of a woman and two men in Toronto, Niagara and Hamilton.

The first incident occurred in Toronto on Oct. 1 when police responded to a call for service and found a woman in her 60s “deceased inside a residence with visible trauma to her body.”

The following day, emergency services personnel responded to a disturbance report at John Allan Park in Niagara Falls. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from critical injuries. 

“Despite medical intervention efforts by Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Niagara Falls Fire Service, 47-year-old Lance Cunningham was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the release added. 

The third incident occurred in Hamilton on Oct. 3 when a man was found unresponsive in a parking lot with “significant injuries consistent with a stabbing.” The victim, identified as 77-year-old Mario Bilich, was transported to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries.

“Investigators were able to link the Hamilton homicide to the recent murder in John Allen Park in Niagara Falls, determining the suspect matched the description in both cases,” the release continued. “An additional link was made to the active homicide investigation from October 1 in Toronto.” 

Authorities believe Cunningham and Bilich — a retired teacher — were randomly targeted, while the Toronto victim was known to the suspect. 

Kauldhar was charged with first degree murder in the Hamilton incident and second-degree murder in the Toronto and Niagara investigations, per the release.

During a news conference on Oct. 4, Niagara Regional Police Chief Bill Fordy confirmed Kauldhar was arrested at a hotel in Burlington and she had had previous interactions with the police. He added that detectives were also trying to identify a woman who was seen on CCTV buying clothing that Kauldhar had in her possession when she was arrested. 

In an update shared on Oct. 5, police confirmed that the unknown female had been identified. 

“I think by definition she is a serial killer,” Fordy told reporters at the news conference when asked if the label was fitting. “Two or more offenses, so by definition, I think that’s a fair comment.”
