After many subway commutes drowning out music and podcasts aplenty, I upgraded to noise-canceling earbuds — and the difference is palpable.

During Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, you’ll find countless Apple deals, but the one I’d advise adding to cart is the Apple AirPods Pro 2. These earbuds outperform past iterations with their superior sound quality and noise-canceling abilities. They impressively dull the roar of New York City noise, whether I’m on the train or walking down busy streets. I’ve come to swear by this compact, wireless style — and right now, it’s $60 off at Amazon.

Beyond noise-cancellation, there are a handful of other improvements between the original style of AirPods and this model, starting with the design. These earbuds have a silicone sleeve that actually sits in your ear and not only blocks noise but secures the device in place. These stay in my ears far better than my old AirPods, which would slip out during treadmill or elliptical workouts. 

The battery has also grown a cat-like lifespan, lasting for days instead of mere hours. I only charge the case once a week, and that’s enough to keep power flowing in the AirPods in between uses. They also charge super quickly when resting in the case, which is a huge bonus for those always on the go. The case also alerts you when it needs a charge via a small light and chime noise, and it uses a common USB-C cord.

Similar to most Apple products, these AirPods are incredibly durable. Though they don’t fall from my ears, I’m quite clumsy putting them away and have dropped them an absurd number of times. I bought them during the July Amazon Prime Day sale event, so I’ve had them for three months, and they’ve yet to scratch.
