‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Star Tempest DuJour Suffers ‘Gruesome’ Injury
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Tempest DuJour revealed that they landed in the hospital needing stitches after fainting at home.
The 57-year-old posted on Instagram with the health update, giving a triggering warning as they shared “gruesome” photos of their injuries.
“About 3am Sunday morning I got out of bed and fainted, hitting the corner of the dresser. Five hours later I was stitched up, bottom lip reattached. Ugh,” they wrote.
The drag artist — who appeared in season 7 of the Emmy-winning competition series — then answered some questions from followers about the accident in the comments section.
“Did you wake up immediately or did someone find you? So terrifying if you were lying there alone!” Questioned one fan before DuJour replied, “My husband heard the fall and found me pretty quickly.”

Michelle Visage — Seduction singer and RuPaul’s Drag Race judge — asked in the comments if they were okay.
“Lots of pain and swelling, seeing a plastic surgeon soon,” DuJour responded. “It’s all embarrassing! Love to you and the family ❤️”
DuJour also noted that their blood pressure results came back normal and that they “probably just got up too quickly from a deep sleep.”
Fainting can occur when someone stands up after sitting or lying down for long periods of time, per the Cleveland Clinic. A condition called orthostatic hypotension causes a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up, with those affected often needing a moment afterward for their blood pressure to return to normal.
